About Your Session

What should you wear?  We suggest that you meet with us ahead of time to discuss location and clothing choices.  By planning your session together, we are more likely to produce prints that you will treasure for a lifetime.  Typically, solid, long sleeved shirts are the best choice.  Patterns and stripes tend to distract from the person.  We want the focus to be on YOU, not on your clothing.  For families, I highly recommend that you dress in similar colors.  Families who coordinate their clothing tend to look more like a family rather than a group of strangers in a photo together.  Dressing in similar clothing also makes the photo less busy so that the focus is on the faces.  This is so important.  I cannot stress this enough.

For babies, we suggest minimal, very simple clothing or bare skin with bare feet.  You're going to want photos of those tiny toes!  Please remember to take the baby's socks off WAY before the session as socks tend to leave rings on the legs.  For parents in the photos with little ones, it's best to wear a plain, solid color.  Black and white is easy and works well.  Feel free to bring a bottle or snacks and their favorite toy.  Please make sure that babies are well-rested and are not hungry or thirsty before their session.

If you wear glasses and insist on having them in the photo, please discuss this with me ahead of time.  The easiest solution is to have the lenses removed from your glasses prior to the session.  If that is not possible, please  let me know.
